I much prefer walking outdoors and saving the money! Being inside the gym and gym culture (sharing sweaty machines that aren't properly wiped down, having to wait to use those machines, etc...) just aren't my thing. I thought knowing I was paying for it each month would get me to go more often, but it didn't work. Even when I do the treadmill I stop at the 15 minute mark, make a bed, change laundry over etc so I can get my steam back to finish up a full half an hour. Do what works for you. Even a 1.1 mile walk every day is good for you and the dog! Buddy has never gotten so many walks, he's tired too but loving it. Maybe keep a walking log?
