Just a 12 1/2 hour round trip and visit, but it was so nice seeing our daughter. She has a high cours eload and is thinking of switching up her major minor declaration, so I think she loved the little change in schedule. We had a bathroom break on route, and then met her outside her door to take her care package, including some palak paneer for her freezer. She was very happy with her treats. We took a nice walk around her very quiet campus-you could tell the vibe was a lot of take out from the dining hall rather than eat in different form other years. Our lunch was tak eout Panera, slad, soups, sandwiches, and mac and cheese and to a lovely park we went. The bees were really pesky-she warned us about them, but even so, it was such a nice day in the sun.
We got her restocked at Target with essentials, then she guided us to another park she and a friend discovered on a long bike ride just the day before. We spent a god hour wander the park, dodging frisbee golf and it all felt a little but normal, and that was good. We said our goodbyes, and got back on the road so she could do homework and study for a test she has this morning. Most likely she will be home at Thanksgiving, and stay through January as the last three weeks of class will be all on-line. They have their choice of going back after Thanksgiving, or just staying at home. Six week sago she was all for going back to college, but I think it will depend on how her friends and study groups decide, and more now are leaning towards staying home.
Pup greeted us with toys, but he wasn't to wigged out with us being gone. He had his other girl all day who gave him lots of attention. As this posts, we are probably already at the lake and he will be living his best life. Have a great week!
On our walk, she showed us a local high school football field that is righ talong a river |
Just a little picture of the river from a foot/bike bridge that connects the two halves of the park. |
Proper mask wearing and distancing to pose in front of the campus pond and fountain. |
I love the turrets in her dorm-she calls Hogwarts. |
I am glad you guys had a nice and fun time. So, she is going to Hogwarts ha? Lol! Looks like a very nice campus.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a small school but fits her. This dorm has more character than the cookie cutter style.
DeleteI'm sure it was a nice visit. It reminded me that I should gather a few things to take to the Princess on Saturday. I'm sure she would appreciate it.

Your princess will appreciate a care package I’m sure. Now I’ll just miss her until Thanksgiving break which may merge with Christmas break.
DeleteIsn't it great to see your kids? I love her dorm.
ReplyDeleteWe weren’t allowed inside as they are still limiting where people go, but I hadn’t noticed that but when we moved her in.
DeleteGorgeous photos, and sounds like a wonderful visit.
