Feeling Good Monday-Perhaps an Idea?

Another work week is starting and it is a doozy. I decided a good Monday to use my Paris mug for coffee-and day dream a bit of travel. I'm heading into REAL LIFE and working in the office on Thursday from 8:00 until early afternoon. I've got some real mail to deal with and get our office support staff set-up on all the printers. I'm giving a presentation (on-line meeting) to big deal decision makers, some of who are not friendly at all to my program(s) and some that think all the money should go there. Fun times, but all I can do is present details, facts, and data, and let them argue amongst themselves later. I've already decided I am treating myself to both coffee and a take out lunch. There is a local restaurant by work that does a phenomenal hot sandwich lunch special and I can bring one home for DH as well. With a late lunch, we can get by with just a cup of soup for supper-or popcorn as I am happy to have. Other details to the week are a couple open office hours and we begin the budget cycle  for next year, due by February 26th.

Saturday was not as productive on the home front as I wanted. I got a series of texts and ended up working for a few hours to resolve issues. I did so again yesterday morning but that was quick review and sign off. I managed to find time to do a proper job scrubbing the kitchen floor, well over due, complete with moving out all the chairs so I could get really well under the table and right to the walls. Pup was a little annoyed-all his smell was apparently gone. Yesterday we watched the Super Bowl after a very lazy day up to that point. I made the artisan loaf and will recap on Wednesday. I watched Premier League soccer in the morning-the games worked well to time the rise time cycles on the bread. I looked through the Sunday paper, and bundled up for Pup's cold walk. My old high school friend who farms with her family posted how she was bundled to do their morning chores-walking pup is nothing in this cold compared to her work.
Bundled for Pup's walk.

The last couple years my family has done a Super Bowl contest-pick a team and a point spread. Winner gets a coffee card. We girls did not do well, all picking Kansas City, but I was the worst, picking them to win by 14. DH, with Tampa Bay by 7 was the winner. I gave DH a hard time about his love fest for Brady-and the obvious deference the officials gave to him-calling pass interference on an uncatchable ball, and not calling holding on his team that kept him from being sacked a few times, while being whistle happy with KC. None of us really care, but it made the game a little more fun to watch.

I didn't realize how much I miss seeing friends and acquaintances, well maybe I did, until hanging up from Friday book club having a few tears in my eyes from laughing hard. One of the ladies, a good 15 years younger than me, but our girls are just a year apart and friends, is so funny. She is the one that had us laughing over naughty streaming shows like Bridegerton (I haven't watched) and Outlander (again, haven't watched) and chasing kids and husbands out of the room. She showed up on the January call wearing an Outlander chef's apron. It made me think, with the world of Zoom, and Web-Ex and Facebook video, couldn't there be a Blogger world meet-up? Is this a totally silly idea? It could be opt in, sort of like Ann's Christmas card exchange. I'd suggest no more than 10 or it gets a bit crazy, but maybe there could be Blogger groups-books and film discussion, food and recipes, travel and leisure, general chatter? What do you think? If you blog, would you have any interest in a virtual meet up? I'm assuming Zoom could do international so we'd need to account for time zone differences, but we're a clever bunch. I don't know-throw your thoughts in the comments. That's my Feeling Good thought for Monday, warm thoughts of friends and friends we have yet to meet on a cold February morning.

  1. You clever little divil you, why didn't I think of a blogger meet-up? It sounds like a lovely idea. I do have "problems" with zoom sometimes because I'm told the internet connection round here isn't brilliant, but I'd be up for it. And since it would seem that I'd be one of the group about 6 hours ahead of everyone else I'm fine with staying up half the night anyway (sunlight would seem to turn me into a bat)!

    1. I'll do more looking into options. It would be good to have a phone option with video, which I think Zoom has if people do not have web cams or bandwidth but want to join at least to talk.

  2. A blogger meet up is a clever idea and one I would participate in :)
We did Super Bowl picks in our house. Rebecca, Ben and I chose the Bucs. Bill and Jacob chose the Chiefs. I thought the game would be a lot closer.

    1. Oh no-another split house! It still is good fun even if our teams for the game lose. My tea hasn't been in a the SB since I was in 5th grade!

  3. I've been looking at one of those O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System to mop my kitchen and bathroom floors. Several bloggers and vloggers I read and watch use that system.

Speaking of popcorn, I just ran out yesterday, but already have some ordered. I ordered ten pounds back when the pandemic first started and we just finished it all off yesterday.

I was rooting for Tampa Bay due to Tom Brady's age. LOL

    1. I do have to give him credit where credit is due. I wasn't winning Super Bowls when I was 43, but I was coaching soccer and basketball with 2nd graders. I just love popcorn, but once again, my body was telling me I over did it today. I swiped the mop and bucket picture-I have a Libman Wonder mop, and I am happy with how it cleans.

  6. Sam, another viewing suggestion: PBS "The Long Song." I couldn't WAIT for yesterday's episode (#2). Alas, I was dozing off before it aired, so I had to record it. Looks like my Monday night just got booked solid!

    1. I'm taking an end of work day break, but have an evening meeting at 7, so not sure if I'll watch anything tonight, but I am happy for the recommendation.

  7. A blogger meet up is a great idea! I haven't watched Bridgerton yet but loved the Outlander books.

    1. A coworker was an Outlander audio book fiend! She listned on her commute.

  8. I was rather unhappy with the officiating in the Super Bowl, as I was also rooting for KC. Poor Mahomes looked like he was trying to pull the entire team with him through sheer force of will!

I like your picture in your fur hood!

I've done many Zoom calls with other bloggers (including Panama City, NYC, eastern Canada, and tomorrow, the Netherlands!). It's totally fun.

    1. I have an affinity for Patrick Mahomes as his dad was a pitcher for the MN Twins for several years. It's fauz fur, but the hood has been a must over my thick stocking cap. I'll figure out the Zoom thing as I think it would be very fun.

  9. I was for KC and was so mad last night that they got so many bad calls. An online blogger meet up would be fun, but my son stole my webcam since I never use it.

    1. I'll look at options including those that can do call in instead of video. IT was like KC couldn't smile right without getting a flag-and always seemingly at pivotal times, where the few flags TB got made no difference.

  10. Hi Sam, I think this is my first time commenting on/reading your blog. I have bookmarked it now so I'll pop by regularly! Hold onto your hat, I'm apparently a big bad bully! lol. I've just been and reread the whole post and the comments and I stand by my comment and I'm sure you feel the same. We don't always all agree but we're entitled to our opinions and surely can agree to disagree. Anyway, the door is now firmly closed on that! I think you're blogger get together is a very good idea although as a newbie to your group I presume you have others in mind for your ten. Maybe next time though! Will we still be in lockdown??? Take care. x

    1. My comment went from displaying dismay at posts promoting conspiracy of government trying to control the populous and agreeing that there was pot stirring going on by the nature of several posts, and I stand by that. However, I can honestly say I do feel bad, and a bit ashamed with myself as to being rude about the level of frugality, because what she has been able to do financially is quite remarkable. As I said in my comment-I originally enjoyed her blog. We'll see who wants to do the Zoom meet-up. More to figure out-not all will be comfortable. I don't really have a "posse" or whatever the phrase used was, I just like meeting people-hahaha.

  11. You look like a little Eskimo in your coat. I watched Bridgerton and did not like it, I thought it was too dirty. I am not a prude, but it struck a chord of dislike. I love Jane Austin in any form.

    1. I like period pieces to be steeped in history- a little steam is fine, but not if it becomes the show. I loved Poldark. I think I am very Minnesohtah in the faux fur.

  12. I think a blogger meet up would be a great idea! I would have to know far in advance though to practice my make up skills. I don't wear it anymore and I am pretty sure I have forgotten how to apply it.
