Distressed Passenger
I was supposed to be flying home from Washington DC by way of O'Hare in Chicago earlier this evening. While still no big snow in Minnesota, all flights entering Chicago were cancelled. I was notified late, and no flight direct or connecting are available. I was given a discount voucher, no free hotel stay, for a Sheraton at half rate as a "distressed passenger." I have a direct 8:30 flight tomorrow. I have been under a lot of work stress, but the change I was contemplating is now on the near horizon. Instead of wallowing in pity for not getting home tonight, I decided to have a date night with myself. After checking in, I walked to the local market. I love markets in some towns where they are allowed to sell beer and wine right in the grocery store. We can't do that at home. I got a deli Chinese take out meal, a chocolate bar, and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. I got back into my pajamas, and found TBS on the television, reruns of Everyone Loves Raymond and Big Bang Theory. Distressed has its upside.
