No Spend Day

I would have like to have started Penny Golightly's tenner week, but with needing to stock my desk drawers with office fast lunch items, and hitting Target while DD#2 was at basketball, and two scheduled nights out already, this would have been an epic fail by Monday night.  Instead, I am trying to keep the remaining 4 days of the week, No Spend Days.  Success today-not a penny escaped my purse. I have been trying for a couple years now to follow along with the tenner weeks.  I almost made it once. Because I knew this week was a bust, I will start one on Sunday and see how I can fare.  I'm going to give myself other challenges this week in the spirit of tenner week like seeing if I can use up leftovers (though this will also be part of day one for tenner, so might need to rethink this), and completely stay out of the grocery store, mend at least one item of clothing, and make at least one house "fix".  I'll touch base later in the week to share how I did.

  1. Don't forget that Penny Golightly's tenner is £10 which is a bit more than $10. I've just done a quick check and it's more like $15 at the moment

    1. She has said that as well, but $15 was done by Monday night. Based on what some people post, there are better grocery prices in UK on many items. I'll aim for $10 just to really challenge myself as I'll need to after this week.

  2. I think that grocery prices are of the swings an roundabouts variety. The UK prices I see on blogs are usually the RFQS (Reduced For Quick Sale) variety which I can't get as they happen late evening and are first come first served.

However, when you decide on the week I'll do it with you. This week would have been impossible for me too as I have been away for a few days.
