Thursday Thoughts

I had coffee this morning.  To compensate for yesterday, I made it latte style, adding the frothy milk to an extra strong brew. I also can add that the scale did not go up from yesterday. Thursday is looking banner.

The house once again, is looking like a shipping warehouse. DD#1 is trying to purge and pack for real this time, but at this point, if she doesn't get some of the purging out of her room, the hallway, the family room, I fear the wrong boxes may end up in the truck Sunday morning. She learned the earliest she can move in is 1:00, so no super early morning, but it will mean we will be home later Sunday night than I had wanted. No Academy Award viewing for me this year. She's been working and rewokring her budget. It will be tight, but she's learned how to stretch a dollar. All you frugal bloggers, she's coming your way to learn your tips and strategies.  If any of you know of good ones for households of one, let me know.

I have two back to back catch-up days at work.  One, 90 minute weekly meeting and nothing else on the calendar means some much needed desk time should have me caught up after the craziness of last week and earlier this week. Simple and ordinary days coming up. I like it.

  1. It does seem that things are looking up! I can't be a person if I don't start the day with coffee.
You will miss DD but getting her stuff out and then sorting the room is a wonderful feeling. I'm looking forward to tearing apart DJ's room in August. He is taking his furniture to his new apartment.

    1. Of course I will miss her, but this time, I think she really is ou for keeps. That will be a cahnge for your house as well. My son would like his furniture, but I think the cost of getting it to him would be as much as just having hi buy a real bedroom set, on sale or second hand of course, in CA. since he has roommates now, and if he finds something on his won, it probalby will be a studio, he is getting by with the oddities he has.

  2. I've given up having cream in my coffee :( but using hot soy milk in my frother really makes it seem like a treat. I look forward to the day I can help my daughter set up her first place - hope it happens in my life time!

    1. I'm not a oy fan, but love my cream, though this was skim milk. I hope this is for good-not that the door isn't open should she need to return ever, but it is time for her to be truly on her own.
