Yoga Clothes in Public-Take That

I'm going to be a true rebel today against all things fashion.  I'm bucking the mantra of grown up style bloggers that talk about athletic wear worn outside of a gym or exercise class as simply slovenly and lazy. I got a cute set-jacket and pants-yoga outfit from my sister for Christmas. They are so incredibly comfortable, and I am happy to say, the pants are not even an extra large! I just got DD#2 off school to catch her show choir bus, but I am driving there a bit later as they don't perform until 10:00, and for once, the competition is in the Twin Cities. I'll probably be there the duration of the day, which means a lot of down time. I plan to take a few walks today in between the performances and I want to be comfortable for doing that. Temps are expected in the 40's today, so great walking weather. I do not like going for power walks in blue jeans or chinos.  As much as I am trying to not be a slovenly lazy mom, someday, comfort wins today.

  1. I wear yoga pants to run errands all the time. A few rules 1) never to work ;-) 2) never too tight 3) always with appropriate bits (my bottom) covered by a longer shirt

    1. I am following your rules. So much more comfortable than jeans.

    1. I don't want to be known as the mom who couldn't get up, but I like your thinking.

  3. I wear my running pants a lot, especially if I'm walking to my Mum's. Unfortunately I haven't used them for running since October - I learned to run last summer ( I followed the couch to 5k programme) and was running for 30 minutes 3 times a week before this latest illness struck :(

  4. I never wear yoga pants in public because I don't have any. Maybe I would be skinny if I had some.
What gets me the most is when people are out in public in their pjs. The only time your should leave your house in your sleep clothes is if your house is on fire.

    1. The pajama thing is pretty funny, but truth be told, when i am working from home and haven't showered yet, I've been known to drive daughter to school in pj bottoms. I wish the wearing athletic wear translated to skinny-I'd be a rail from all the years of not knowing how horrific my weekend (lack of)style is.
