Are Wheels Turning Now?

Today's post is a do over in honor of my dear friend, child and family advocate, human rights activist, LGBTQ rights defender, and insanely perfect mother of three. A is a trailblazer in Minnesota, fighting the good fight for the marginalized and powerless to have a voice. Ground breaking legislation happened through her work. Two weeks ago, having been unwell most of a trip touring colleges with her 16 year old, she returned home pale and in pain. Her husband brought her to the ER, where testing began. The unbelievable diagnosis was that she has a massive brain tumor. She broke the news to all her friends, beyond just a small tight circle that new already, yesterday. Today, she will be in surgery.

When Wheels Aren't Turning  was written two years ago after Indiana passed a law that would allow discrimination against certain groups of people. I admit I haven't stayed current on all the impact. Life is different in Minnesota for many of my friends because of progressive laws supporting all families. I've been celebrating that. Today though, I'm reminded the fight is still going for so many. My friend's a fighter and she's got more work to do. Love you, A.

  3. Hugs, so sad. We just found out yesterday my hubby's cousin had a brain aneurysm and died, life is so fleeting and each moment must be lived to the fullest.
