Hopefulness and Gratitude

For those that read and had kind thoughts and comments for my friend, thank you so much. The positive energy being sent to her from many parts of the world through all of her friends sharing her story seemed to have converged. Early reports are that the surgery went as well as could be hoped for. She was able to see her husband and children last night, though she is in a lot of pain. The wait for the results of the biopsy is on. In other news, my nieces husband has started his chemo, as has my friends 18 year old daughter. Both are circled in prayers and positive energy. I'm not even sure I had shared my friend N's daughters Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosis in this post. I learned of it the same week as we were experiencing the other losses that last week of March-first week of April. An all state athlete, that just signed her college letter of intent a few months back, M too is a fighter.

All this adversity and pain, yet the strength of all directly impacted is unmeasurable. My little donations of time, food, or money seem insignificant. I know though through the messages and Caring Bridge journal updates, the collective impact of all the little things people are doing is helping the families cope. I also have hope and gratitude that should my family need this support, it will be there. Easter weekend, for those of Christian faith, is a season to reflect on giving of oneself for others.I need to see how I can give more to organizations that support families that don't have a big circle of support.

It's a four day weekend, since tomorrow is my regular day, and I'm using my floating holiday today. DD2 and I are doing a brief road trip tomorrow morning to Saturday afternoon to visit DD1.She's going to give us a tour of her work studio before we spend the afternoon looking for a thrifted table and chairs or other miscellaneous items she still wants in her apartment. The boys will stay home, pup keeping DH busy. DH has today off, but he is heading to the cabin for a meeting with the mason regarding extra bricks and what to be done about them. I'll spend the morning doing catch-up of laundry, cleaning the refrigerator and kitchen, and bathrooms. My car is going into the shop for regular maintenance  and we are officially moving money into our Roth from regular savings. If DH is home early enough, we may grab lunch out together and head to the government center to update our passports. We don't know what life may throw at us. We want to be ready, passports in hand, no matter what.

    1. I'm on the peripheral, so not going through anything like those in the center. I just hope all of them know how many people are praying and sending positive thoughts.

    1. I agree with your sentiments. there is at least so many more treatment options, so more hope than past decades.
