Other than my malaise, it has been a good week. Oddly, Tuesday I had nothing on my work calendar and was able to jump into several projects and end my day feeling not just caught up, but on target for the rest of the week. Yesterday was jam packed, but I'm working from home today, starting in a short while, so saving myself nearly two hours in commuting.
We had the final school choir concert of the year for DD2 on Wednesday night. I took video of her school choir, her vocal jazz, and the grand finale with all choirs but it takes so long to upload It might be a while if I share. She had a short solo, opening her school choirs ballad. She sang in a lower key than other solos she has had and it was absolutely beautiful as was her classmate, another show choir girl, who sang the second part of the opening. The end of year choir is always fun music, a combination of popular songs and theater and movie musicals. The finale was "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman, quite impressive with nearly 400 students singing, each choir with their part and selectively coming together. In vocal Jazz, her good friend S, who is over 6 feet tall, was featured singing "all About the Bass" and did terrific-like the song was meant for her to sing.
Pup had some surgery on Thursday and they gave hm a thorough haircut while he was still under. He was unhappy and sad. When DD2 got home, he pretty much didn't leave her side, seeking protection. He is more himself today but because we have a lot of steps, I'm keeping an eye on him as he still seems a little drugged up.
Plans tonight are to lay low, hopefully get some yard work and some seeds planted in flower boxes. Our neighbors grad party tomorrow, so want to make sure our yard is not an embarrassment to them! DD2 works tonight and has a round of parties tomorrow and Sunday, including the neighbors. We are invited to an 80th birthday tomorrow for a family friend of DH's and he may get to it, but I will be passing. Sunday, DD2 and I are doing the set-up and helping to serve the graduating seniors at church for a baccalaureate serve and brunch, and then Sunday is also all mine.
To end on a positive note, I did well with my eating this week and the scale thanked me with a pound loss. The trouble with roller coaster dieting is each tie the weight comes back on, it seems harder to get the same gains. I'll take the one pound and be happy. The weight has really landed in my belly and so hopefully revamping my core strengthening will give me the added benefit of losing some of the fat in that area. My waist bands, zippers, snaps and buttons will be thankful.
Congrats on the scale success!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a pretty good week. I look forward to hearing your daughters solo.
The week improved.
DeleteI swear Jillian Michaels level one work out will kill you but done every day will take off the inches. It worked for my lower belly fat , like when you bend over and you stomach stops you.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly my problem area.I'll see what the library has.
