I'm a bit sore. I was up and down flights of stairs all morning and early afternoon. Things are still chaos in the house, but better than before I started. The storm wigged pup out yesterday morning so he wouldn't leave me alone. I'd come out of the laundry room and he'd be right there waiting. This is supposed to be a meal planning post. So be it, though quick and little thought into it, or rather little thought went into what we're eating. I didn't plan well last week between hectic work schedules, coming and going, but we ate.
- Sunday: Made curry for DD2 but DH and I had a late lunch out and were r hungry.
- Monday: Homemade Mac and cheese, broccoli
- Tuesday: Frozen Meatballs and gravy, red potatoes
- Wednesday: Hot ham and cheese sandwiches, pasta salad
- Thursday: Neither of us felt like normal dinner, so FFY. DD2 went to her campus for weekend.
- Friday: chili, hotdogs
- Saturday: Friends stopped by DH's work and lured us out for drinks and dinner. I'm on vacation, so we couldn't say no.
I have a lot of peppers to roast on the grill this evening to put away for the winter so I'm thinking chicken and veggie kabobs will be our dinner.
ReplyDeleteI sliced cucumbers for pickles yesterday/ drained overnight. I saved some though for gyro's tonight.
DeleteI mostly stuck to my plans last week, except my husband stopped at the Italian grocery nearby and brought home some lunch meat and ham salad, and we had sandwiches for dinner later in the week. I’m going to examine the contents of the freezers and see what I can cobble together for the week. I’m having dinner out tomorrow so I’ll make sure there’s leftover something for the boys. I’ll run in Walmart one night this week after work for some odds and ends, toilet paper, creamer, a couple freebies that popped up on ibotta. Trying to keep my spending low this week. JoAnn
ReplyDeleteThe Italian grocery store that relocated 10 years ago, was a favorite stop. Now it's no where close or in route. Occasionally we'll do the downtown St Paul market.
DeleteHave you tried Cosseta’s yum!!
DeleteI have a friend who had a wheel which said things like "Martinis," "Mom and Dad are heading out, you're on your own" "Sushi and Sake...Oh, you don't like sushi? Sucks to be you," and "Spin again." Our kids thought it was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. Sometimes it feels like I'd eat better with a wheel of chance.
DeleteI need to do an inventory of the fridge and make a plan. I was going to work on it this weekend, but having my granddaughter around preempted that plan.
ReplyDeleteGranddaughter over meal planning in a heart beat!
DeleteLast week, I was ill but Tommy found plenty to eat with proteins cooked and waiting, tomatoes, and bags of salad. I don't think he resorted to cans even once. Tonight, I will cook breasts, thighs, and legs and carrots and onions in a bag in the oven. Then, I will cook another bag of vegetables tomorrow--potatoes, onions, and squash, at least. We both enjoy this kind of eating plan...lol.
ReplyDeleteYour plan for eating sounds great. Having food on hand is half the battle. I just wish we had a grill!
Your meat cooking marathons pay off. Protein and veggies sounds good to me.
Deletei liked the wheel. My house has no stairs so when I visited the relations I realized I was avoiding things lest I had to take the stairs.
ReplyDeleteI try to add more stairs when possible. I use the upstairs bathroom even when I work downstairs. That's two flights extra. It has to help a bit.
