Friday Free for All-Home, Snow, and Politics

It's been a week of snow, waiting for travel updates, and trying to work at more than 100% ( I know not mathematically possible) to get both caught up and moving forward at work. It's a Friday Free for All and thought I'd share where my minds at.

Snow Pictures

Here you go. Just to get a little bit of beauty along with the beast that is Minnesota winter. I want to do a shout-out to the plow driver who seeing me about to attack the end of the two feet by three feet block, removed it for me! Poor DD2's car still needs to be dug out.

Home

DS made it late Wednesday/ early Thursday. I worked half day, then we took him out for lunch. DD1 came later and we had a nice night together. All's on time with the youngest, just got message her connection from Amsterdam to  Minneapolis is in flight. We'll have everyone here tonight, making me a happy mom. My older kids are doing a grocery run for me but once again, I already have leftovers for meals too. Last night was the pulled pork from the pork loin before Christmas, with the twice baked potatoes from the Tuesday meatloaf. I had taken soup out to thaw as well. My daughter brought over ripe bananas and combined with ingredients here, and berries she bought, made delicious banana blueberry muffins for us this morning. No one will go hungry.

Politics

I used to do much more in the political sphere for work. Now, I am just an information responder once the legislative session starts. I have friends though made over the many years I did advocacy work, in the thick of things. A friend posted this and I had to laugh at the truth of it. Children of the 70's will get it!

I hope your weekend gets off to a good start. Fell free to share your own Friday Free for All takes and tales.

    1. I still can sing along! It's unusual to get this much snow so early. Maybe the rest of winter will be kinder.

  3. I’m so excited for you to have your family all in one spot :) I’m enjoying one of my last free days with DD, starting to pick up some essentials to take back with her and then a cozy evening at home. The current state of politics would be almost entertaining if it wasn’t such a ridiculous situation. One can only hope that voters are paying attention and that they feel the second hand embarrassment from those clowns. JoAnn

    1. We'll send our daughter back with a few ready to eat items, plus she'll have a small meal plan. She'll need to buy something me fresh things by the following week. I really can't think how some voters know what they know and still vote as they do.

    1. It shows what a tiny bit of kindness and appreciate can do. I just waved as a thank you, and he went the extra minute. Not much but when he'd probably been plowing for hours and had hours more, that minute was huge!

  8. I laughed at your cartoon and it is especially accurate since I found out at 4 pm Friday (today) that I have court set at the same time on Monday for two different judges. I have hearings on not one, but two, murder cases on Monday, in addition to 27 other cases, and another judge decided to set a court docket also? What do I look like, the spandex gal, who can stretch to accommodate? No way reinforcements can come in, we are extremely short handed. Yeah, I so feel your cartoon! Cindy in the South
