She's Ready for the Road

After many weeks of  hanging out in my garage, an old high school friend commented on an unrelated post if I got the bike fixed yet. Yesterday he messaged me that he was going to pick it up and take care of it. $10 on two inner tubes and two hours later, he had dropped it off good as new! That bike was a double random act of kindness; first in my cousin gifting it to me, and then Z's awesome  tire repair. He would not take a thing for the repair, as my cousin would not accept anything for the bike. He has a couple grandons and a grand daughter so I will be get him a DQ card to enjoy some ice cream with the kiddos. When concerns of the virus are done I will be taking my cousin for lunch.

Meet Penny! Isn't she a cutie. After my last meeting of the day was done, but before I ended work, I couldn't resist taking her out for a little spin. Woah, am I rusty on a bike but it felt good and was so fun. I had ordered a lock for her a while back as well, so now I can  do a little light shopping, milk, bread, candy, a four pack of wine, without having to get in the car or walk if I don't want to. I'm not quite sure how the  fender board works, but it has a little spring grip. I think it is meant for books perhaps? Please ignore my end of day, sweating and sunburned appearance. The humidity is 90%. My daughter’s adorable on her, and as suspected, nabbed her for the night.

I'm as happy as my daughter was in early  Stay at Home getting my old bike out and riding around for a change of pace. Th seat is not the big one that I was looking for, so I need to decide If I will replace. It's hard to do anything but mail order as I won't exactly be testing out in a sporting good store right now. I'm not planning to do any major road riding either, perhaps bike as far as my daughters. 2.4 miles away the safe way, and 1.9 if I go a busy street. I'll go the safe way. I could get brave and bike to the river. which is 3.2 miles on a nearby bike path, but only 2.9 the busy way.The safe ways are more scenic and will be quite nice once the leaves start to turn. I'm looking forward to many a weeknight and weekend  exploration with Penny.
