And Like That, We're on to New Year's

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. Since Friday, my time has pretty much been family, family, family. Saturday DD1 and I made Oreo and Nutter Butter Truffles and canned  batch of jam, using up an assortment of strawberries, raspberry's, and rhubarb from the freezer. DD2 and DH spent some tie together and went to the Star Wars movie. Late that night we picked up DH from the airport. Christmas eve I kept to my newer tradition nd made a batch of soup and Ciabatta bread, which we enjoyed before church. Later the kids exchanged their presents, though DS is still waiting on the rest of his Amazon delivery. We spent the night then at my sisters with over 50 extended family members. DS reprised his role as Santa; he's a good sport. 

We had more gifts for the kids in the morning but then headed to DH's moms. We were of the attitude that no one was going to disrupt our feelings of peace on earth and good will to man. With healthy assistance from a fine petit blanc, I had a good day.My mother in law gave each me and my sister in laws one of those copper kettle pans. I've heard good things about those, so will enjoy using. Our nephew/Godson was thrilled with his penny skateboard. We pretty much at eh same foods each day because our families have similar backgrounds, but no one was complaining. Below are some pictures of Christmas Day, round 2 which was any lunch leftovers and a few extra simple sides like brie and crackers and veggies and dip. 

DD1 and I ran to Walmart, Target, and Dollar Tree for a few clearance sales. I need to swap out two pairs of jeans for DS tonight at Kohls, but am waiting until later tonight. We're all going to enjoy going to the Greatest Show on Earth movie and then for Chinese buffet. The kids want to use my washer and dryer so they don't have to do laundry as soon as their home, so that will be a good time to run my last errand. They both head home tomorrow. Very short time with DS, but even with DD1 home all last week, it went so fast. I'll pop on line for work tomorrow for a bit, doing a meeting by Skype before getting DS to the airport. We hope to spend the afternoon at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. I'll spend Thursday and Friday reclaiming my house from the Holiday gift giving, purging a few old things to make room for new. I hope you all enjoy your last week of December.
