Meet Penny! Isn't she a cutie. After my last meeting of the day was done, but before I ended work, I couldn't resist taking her out for a little spin. Woah, am I rusty on a bike but it felt good and was so fun. I had ordered a lock for her a while back as well, so now I can do a little light shopping, milk, bread, candy, a four pack of wine, without having to get in the car or walk if I don't want to. I'm not quite sure how the fender board works, but it has a little spring grip. I think it is meant for books perhaps? Please ignore my end of day, sweating and sunburned appearance. The humidity is 90%. My daughter’s adorable on her, and as suspected, nabbed her for the night.
I'm as happy as my daughter was in early Stay at Home getting my old bike out and riding around for a change of pace. Th seat is not the big one that I was looking for, so I need to decide If I will replace. It's hard to do anything but mail order as I won't exactly be testing out in a sporting good store right now. I'm not planning to do any major road riding either, perhaps bike as far as my daughters. 2.4 miles away the safe way, and 1.9 if I go a busy street. I'll go the safe way. I could get brave and bike to the river. which is 3.2 miles on a nearby bike path, but only 2.9 the busy way.The safe ways are more scenic and will be quite nice once the leaves start to turn. I'm looking forward to many a weeknight and weekend exploration with Penny.
Yay for having your bike fixed, and even better that an old friend was able to help you out!
ReplyDeleteHe's recently moved to a condo so looking for things to putter with.
DeleteHi Sam, you look great on your bike! I haven't commented before, but really enjoy your thoughtful blog. I purchased a wide seat from Target (Schwinn brand) for a used bike that I ride similar low mileage on. It serves the purpose and was inexpensive.

I think having just more room for my seat will increase the comfort.Thankyou for commenting.
DeleteNow that's what I call a bike! Forget the modern jobbies, that bike means business!
ReplyDeleteWe're ready and she'll be a good diversion midday.
DeleteI haven't been on a bike in years! She's a cute little bike! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't either and this wilk be more tooling around. I'll see how far I'm willing to pedal.
DeleteGood for you for getting on your bike. I keep thinking about it but when you haven't ridden for years it's kinda scary isn't it. The problem for me round here is I'd have to throw it in the car and go somewhere flat but I'm determined to do it (one day). I'll see how you get on first!
ReplyDeleteWe have loads of easy biking so no excuses for me. There's more leisure than work out though.
DeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteLet's make sure I don't take her for granted now that she's ready.
DeleteYou've inspired me to get my bike out and ride it this week!
ReplyDeleteDo it! I used to ride my old bike with my daughter to my parents the last few years before they died.
Deletejolly good fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope we become good friends.
DeleteYou can use a bungee cord to attach a milk crate to the back in order to carry more. I love your bike!
ReplyDeleteThere's an idea! I'll see how I get on with basket first.
DeleteThat's a gorgeous bike and you both look fabulous riding her! x
