Advil is My Best Friend

Oh the joints.  And the muscles.  And let's not forget the tendons and ligaments.  I had a way too much sitting kind of day, followed by a cold drive home, and a chilly church for Ash Wednesday service.  Kneeling for communion took it's toll on my knees.  A late scheduled volleyball match capped off the day and I winced with every ball that came my way.  I had forgotten to ward off further strain by taking my trusty best friend, Advil.  Between physical therapy exercises and a planned ibuprofen tablet or two, I manage my RA pretty well.  It is days like this, coupled with forgetfulness to take  the pain reliever, that I remember with full force that my aches and pains are beyond those associated with getting older.  I am comfortably in my bed, having taken three tablets, an approved upper end dosage, and a hot cup of tea.  I should be right as rain by morning but annoyed with myself.

I have a to do list in the office that seems to be growing with each day of the calendar.  I'm down to seven business days and 11 years of office clutter to clear and no longer needed filing to purge. We are in the season of lent, and it is a season I find myself most reflective.  As I finish up my current job, I know I will be second guessing this change, even while knowing deep down it is the right one.  I just need to make sure I don't squander the gains, mostly in time, that the job change means. I can't have days like today, sore and imbalanced.   It was bitter cold, but another day full of sun.  That's the reminder spring is almost here,  It is time for a new season for me as well.

  1. We too (in the UK) have been getting some gloriously sunny days of late. I hope your body soon feels more comfortable. That new season is nearly here.

    1. A good night sleep does wonders. Hopefully March sun will bring some warmth.
