Lost My Pictures- For Good?

For anyone reading my past posts, apologies for the gaping holes where all pictures should be.  Either through malicious intent externally or ignorant dealings internally, I appear to have lost all  my files on my computer, extending apparently to those on the blog.  I've never heard of losing files on a hard drive, and then those also being gone to things you upload.    It looks kind of ghostly-like  someone has taken a scissors to a scrap book.  I knew this lap top was starting to glitch on me.  It has taken a lot of wear and tear in two and 1/2 years, but I think there might be more to it.  Nothing of importance isn't backed up, but this strange connection between my hard drive and cyber world is a bit concerning. Any advice out there from someone who has experienced the same?

  1. Sam, there are still pictures on your blog as I read it, I've got the tea tray and the brownie mix on Saturday's post but I haven't looked further back than that.

    1. I think the glitch was everything before Saturday. I won;t be able to solve now-time to get out the door to work. Thanks for letting me know what you could see.

  2. Hmm. The same thing happened to me last summer. It was infuriating because I couldn't post any pictures for ages (the whole up-load process went into meltdown). I'm afraid I didn't find a solution beyond copying photos from a word document, which was really fiddly. I hope that your problem is more easily solved. Jx

    1. I have been hacked. Apparently an encryption code was downloaded and for princely sum of $500 I can get the private code to open the encryption. Ugh-well it appears everyone has had this happen at least once. I will not let it get the better of me!

  3. Hey, it looks like one of your photos is back. Is the one on "Clutter... agh!!!" Newly returned or did that one never disappear?
