The Art of Wine and Chocolate

I am getting into the swing of things with my new job, and I am starting to see the slightly manic side of me come out.  Let's face it honestly.  Part of my driven to near breakdown at my last job was at least 25% self propulsion to taking on more, better, harder work.  To keep the cycle from starting, I am practicing zen like behaviors at home-at least my kind of zen.  I truly love a good glass of wine at the end of the night.  I enjoy a bit of chocolate as well. As I am sitting here about to watch a streaming episode of Eastenders, I have a hankering for both.  Don't anyone worry about this developing into a bad habit on either front.  I'm talking a glass of wine and a square or two of chocolate. I'm living the adage, all things in moderation.

Wine and chocolate can be pretty wonderful, but I do not have a gift for pairing the two together. Cheese I do all right with, but too sweet a chocolate, and the wine becomes bitter. Picking too dark a chocolate and the wine takes on a sticky sweet flavor. The lovely people at Lindt have developed a nice on line tool for people like me. This is not a promotion for Lindt-no freebies or dollars are coming my way. A local dollar store often has the Lindt bars in assorted flavors for, of course $1.00 for a pretty big bar, and through our wine club, we get some pretty terrific wine values. Decadence doesn't need to take over the grocery budget. I thought this was an awesome resource for the wine and chocolate want-to-be connoisseurs out there. The descriptions of chocolate options could cross brands very well. Now, time to figure out what wine might go with leftover Easter Milky Ways.
