Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!  I'm lingering in bed hoping for a delivered morning cup of coffee.  I ground the beans myself for the occasion.  I'll get a text from my son at some point, maybe even a call.  I wouldn't want him to send a card as he needs to hold onto every penny he can. This is my 27th Mother's Day as a mom and 5th without my mom.  We're taking my mother-in-law for brunch later, but I'll miss the Sunday grilling and potluck supper that was held every year in my mom's honor.  I guess no matter how many years go by, I'll still have bittersweet thoughts on the day, but know I'm fortunate to have memories of my mom with flowers and spring salads, and not sadness and drama. For mom's and their children everywhere, I hope your day is filled with joy.

    Happy Mother's Day! Special days are always really difficult when you've lost some-one you love - but it's great that you have masses of happy memories and you know that you spent lots of good times together. Jx

      Thanks, Jan. It was a lovely day with the girls and hubby. I did get my coffee, and a couple of slices of toast before church, and still managed a nice dent in the delicious buffet lunch. No need for supper tonight. I received a nice message from my brother in another state. He never was much for sentimentality, but each year on Mother's Day since our mom passed, he sends a Mothers Day greeting to each of his sisters. It kind of fills a little whole. I am just about to read your post.
