My Not Job Hunting Saga

If you recall, I had an out of the blue call from a executive recruiter on what potentially could be my dream job. I did throw my hat in the ring. A phone interview yesterday went well and I'm on to next round, a Q&A document that will serve as a further screen and writing sample, and live interview Tuesday. As I wasn't actively searching, I'm going to try and stay noncommittal, not overly excited or hopeful and just see if it pans out. He brought up minimum salary, to avoid time wasting if not realistic. I  gave a minimum consideration that was 6% above my current and he confirmed it was well within range, midpoint approximately, so room for further negotiation should I get an offer and see total compensation. That was positive. Nothing more until late March as to whether I'll be forwarded to his client for final interviews. Keep reading and I'll keep you updated.

  1. Good luck! I know recruiters get a pretty bad rap but they can actually be useful. That's how my husband found all his true job leads while unemployed. If nothing else, it at least gets you into practice with interviewing again should you decide it's time to really look for something else.

    1. No eggs are going in any baskets. While it could be a dream job for me, I bet it is for other candidates as well.

    1. The best time to look at job opportunities is when you already have one. So whatever happens, it will work out, right?

    1. I'm trying not to be hopeful, and just look at it as exploring. I don't want to be disappointed if no offers come from the process. Still, keep them crossed for me.

    1. Not yet, but at least no rejection. I'm keeping positive, but not too hopeful.
