Only in Minnesota

Two pictures I took this morning that might explain a bit more about Minnesota. Look closely. Yes, that says -17F for the temperature. But let's look at the bright side. My local gas station has Broasted Chicken and the daily special is Tator tot Hotdish.  Only in Minnesota.

I love how spell check finds "broasted", "tator", and "hotdish" as spelling errors.Have a very happy Friday and if Valentines Day is your thing, enjoy.

  1. -17 is definitely cold. I could use some broasted chicken and tater tots right now.

    1. I don't even know what broasted is compared with roasted, but it is pretty tasty.

  2. Wow!-17... Broasted chicken sounds really good. Lol! I would go for chicken and dumplings or for fiery hot chili to keep warm. Stay safe and stay warm!

    1. I haven't made chili in over a month because DH thought it was too salty. I am not sure what I used that had that impact as I didn't think it was salty at all.

  3. But does it come with green jello salad and carrots with a dollop of miracle whip on top? My Aunt does not want to go home and I don't blame her. It was 57 here yesterday.

    1. You described the horrors of horror at any potluck in my opinion! Vegetables do not belong in jello. Miracle Whip belongs no where! 57 sounds like a dream.

    1. A fellow Minnesotan! You might be near my daughter. She didn't want to face the cold on Wednesday (blizzard conditions too) and didn't leave her dorm until she had to for choir. Her roommate snuck her tacos form DS, which I am OK with as she left and will probably leave a few swipes on her meal card.

    1. Seriously, too cold for anyone. So far we have only had days here and there. Last year we had so many school closing days to cold, the legislature passed an e-school option to make up days.

  6. That is just too cold. I really dislike the preemptive spelling on this new kindle. I want my laptop and an iPad.

    1. I'm still borrowing my daughters. She has her MacAir and this is already four years old, so I don't think she minds. Will see how this year shakes out financially before I invest in something for myself.
