Time
- I had a Zoom Happy Hour with my friend N. I got to meet her new rescue puppy.
- I met three of my friends by the river for a spread out walk. It was good to talk, if form a separated distance. Our states Stay at Home expired to a Safe at Home Sunday night, but we all were still practicing social distancing, and stayed outdoors.
- My sister came for lunch on Wednesday. I have not been as supportive as I would like do to work and stay at home, but it was good to see her. While I won't be going out to eat soon, her business is the restaurant industry so for her, getting to work again is more than income since after losing her husband so suddenly, work will also benefit her health.
- Monday my girls and I went for another river walk, this a different section, and I had forgotten how pretty it is. The path goes along the river on one side, and a river fed lake on the other. The dog was in heaven. This plant, was growing out of the shore rocks and I thought it was quite pretty. If you know what it is called, let me know.
Resources
- I got the free to me hostas in along the garage by our porch. I still haven't decided where the others will go. I kind of like how they look in the planter, but I have more offers to get more, so if I decide to plant these, I can still have containers.
- I had packed DH and DD2 sandwiches and snacks for their road trip. DD2 left half a PB and J wrapped up in the cooler-it was perfect for my Monday breakfast. Not going to waste!
- Set a new self imposed challenge for the rest of the month to not send more than $100 more, to keep the H&G to $625. No denying we are spending much more but this little challenge will push me to use up all food, cleaning, and personal on hand, and not waste items while keeping money in the bank.
- Paid bills on time-no stupid fees. I really don't have much to add to the money category for extra savings so it is all about keeping what is ours and not wasting money on stupid expenses.
I took the picture of my neighbors lilacs yesterday. They are coming along nicely and next week will be in full bloom and I'll post the progression from week to week. It's the little things!.
This must be such a difficult time for your sister - losing her husband and worrying about getting back to work. Sometimes it's good to realize how lucky we are compared to others. And you're right, I'm of the opinion that things have to be eased up into a form of normality, not just for economic reasons but for social contact reasons, and we will all have to learn how to deal with a new normal.
ReplyDeleteI would feel more comfortable about the easing up if we knew for sure there was enough PPE for medical, and people would stop crabbing about wearing a mask I a highly traffic place.
DeleteI'm with you, will continue to be cautious indefinitely. We will likely start seeing people in small groups (when allowed), but going anywhere crowded is out. It also appears that duration of exposure matters, so taking a long flight also seems like it will be one of the last things to open up as an option.
ReplyDeleteMy son said unless it is so he an get back to work, he's avoiding groups. He called his local Walmart a petrie dish, and would rather keep shopping at the small diverse grocers. What dates are the looking at the next phase?
DeleteI am in it for the long game, too. I don't have to be amused, EVER. Well, I was looking forward to game day at church, but no more. Tommy is good company unless he is upset about green stuff in his fruit salad...lol...today's post. He did not want to miss church at first. But, now that his church is meeting, he is not in a hurry to go back. We have fun even if it is watching the mocking birds chase crows and peck them.
ReplyDeleteI think I might have deleted your plant guess. It came oddly in my preview, and then I saw this comment. If you think you know, please reply again. Someone said lambs ears? I read your post-now Iunderstand the green stuff in fruit!
DeleteThe plant is lamb's ear.
DeleteI love lilacs and ours are already spent. I am so happy you get to take walks they are so refreshing and you have people to walk with.
ReplyDeleteMy girls have been a lifeline, kids and friends! The flowering trees and bushes are gorgeous!
DeleteI'm on the same page as you. In the end society has to adjust to this. Moving forwards cautiously. Arilx
ReplyDeleteIf people resect each others space it will help.
DeleteI'll look that up. Isn't it interesting?
