Edit: We have the 3 quart Fabreware.
I of course had to Google air fryer recipes and the return was enormous You can make everything for homemade chicken nuggets to donuts in the darn appliance. I've booked marked the Air Fryer Recipes at Allrecipe.com because I most often have good luck with the recipes there. I'm going to check and see if Taste of Home does any as well, another tried and true recipe site. I'm still bothered tha tit take sup a lot of counter space, so need to figure out a better storage solution. Between it and my croc pot, I've lost that valuable food prep real estate in the kitchen. This is where I have kitchen envy with my daughter, who's kitchen is huge, with loads of cupboards. She doesn't even have to keep a toaster on her counter as it is so accessible in a cupboard right below the counter. Same wither coffee maker, but she does leave that out as it is used regularly.
I've still not gone deep into the Instapot, but this is a good week to try again. Besides my sister-in-law, a co worker with just herself and partner at home also swears by the Instapot, particularly for meals like soups and chili's. The air fryer though is my jam. I know I ask for you all to comment all the time, but I love learning from you all. Please share your success or failures with either appliance.
I'm glad your tuna cakes turned out well. I rcvd an airfryer for Christmas but wasn't too happy with mine. I think the bigger ones would be better because I've seen some really great stuff come out of them. I think mine was just too small.
ReplyDeleteOurs is big enough for the two of us and for what we use it for. I'm curious what you had as our s was 3 quarts. (I linked below in Linda's comment.
DeleteWhat brand and size do you have? I have NO real estate left in the kitchen, but I really want to do this.
ReplyDeleteHere's the ne we bought. It is the perfect size for the two of us, and maybe a third person. It would not be great for families as a regular appliance I bet, for snacks and not having to have an oven on-I like it plus things taste better. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-3-2-Quart-Oil-Less-Multi-Functional-Air-Fryer-Black/47042727?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222222034720852&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=e&wl1=o&wl2=c&wl3=10376245708&wl4=pla-1105728044654:aud-807615483&wl12=47042727_0&wl14=fabreware%20air%20fryer&veh=sem&msclkid=9ae331ac9803151a197e6ff2eff7c125
DeleteSam,thanks.
DeleteI bought one last summer with the hope I'd use it instead of the oven when the air conditioning was running. I hardly use it though but I have a lot of recipes and DS bought me a cookbook. It is BIG too like you said. I did make a grilled cheese sandwich in it that was tasty but I could easily do the same with a skillet. Maybe I'll get the cookbook out and experiment a little- I don't eat a lot of meat and you can't make soup in it LOL. I probably should have got the instapot instead but I don't need any more small appliances. Good luck with yours.
ReplyDeleteBecause my husband loves his wings, and potatoes, that alone was worth the investment, but now I'm trying and want to try other things.
DeleteI bought n air fryer -and then sent it back untried! Then I was given one for Christmas 2018 and I felt I had to make the effort. Now I use it more than my oven! It uses far less energy. cooks beautifully and I can use it in my tiny conservatory/utility room/back porch so that the house never smells of cooking food.
ReplyDeleteLike all appliances, it needs to work and improve a lifestyle, not be a burden. I love not turning the oven on for just the two of us.
DeleteI keep putting off getting an air fryer, especially since I bought an instapot in 2018 and it has never been used. I think I want one before summer because__well, fried okra. I am glad to hear your review of it.
ReplyDeleteHm, this air fryer thing seems pretty good. I have no interest in the instapot of but an air fryer might just be the right thing for us.
ReplyDeleteI have an air fryer, but use it for tater tots and fries. I need to get on google and find some easy recipes.
