A Day Off

Yesterday was my personal holiday, one per year for each employee to use as we please. Unfortunately, I had to fit a 30 minute meeting in before I was able to make Thursday my own. DH ended up with a work task which included a big ball being dropped he had to fix, so I literally spent the day myself. I got coffee and a breakfast sandwich and stopped for some provisions for snacking later and headed to the lake. I swam; I puttered around on a  paddle /pedal boat, napped, and binge read a collection of  June magazines left by others. I intended to get some work done on my book-but really just gave it a read through and it is in rough shape! I guess it will be along time before it is seen by others.

I took a long route home later, stopping off to  see a nearby town's hopping downtown area and the cruise boats sitting on the river. No dinner cruises are happening yet. I've had many company events on these two boats, or a third, another paddle boat.

I had well over 100 e-mails waiting for me, and am slowly making progress. I needed a break, and Thursday was a nice day to do it, as today should be lighter, and I get a couple days of weekend. Don't I look oh so chill!

    1. Highly recommended regardless of where anyone goes, just break out and do something different. The swim was the best part and I need to do more of that.

  2. I am glad you enjoyed your day. I intend to go to the beach sometime next week. I will pack some food and drinks along with my folding chair. I will see if I can keep away from other people and enjoy the beach.

    1. I was very fortunate to not have to share the dock, the swimming area between the docks, and even the hosue with anyone. Stay hydrated-I drank so much water and still was thirsty all day yesterday. The sun just dehydrates me.

    1. You are so kind-considering my hair was pulled back in a sloppy braid and not a lick of makeup. I think the slightly darker hair coloring is a better fit than the blond-blond.I just really saw it in this picture. I need a good haircut though.
