Old pic from lake week. No camera with me, but it was nice seeing my neighbors fire on our walk. |
I "meet" different bloggers by clicking the comment left on another blog I like. Is that cyber stalking, or the way it is supposed to work? Usually it is because a comment they made caught my eye or peeked a thought. This week I "met" I live, I love, I craft, I am and was graced with her sharing her village and moor walks in the cold, with her partner, and their dog Moss. I have become a follower as I feel like blog postings like this that bring serenity and calm to our chaotic world are needed in my life.
I only got out side for a few minutes-it was truly a Monday, but by 10 minutes to five and th eight slowly going, I had to pu t the computer in sleep mode and get out with the pup. It was a perfect January later afternoon. A neighbor on the kitty-corner side of the park was in the process of getting fire going in his fire ring. I could hear the kids gleefully running around heir yard with their black lab who is as gentle as a mouse, but makes a lot of noise when he sees pup, or probably other dogs walk by. It looked like dad and kids were going to roast hotdogs for dinner-or maybe just a later afternoon snack, but it sounded good to me!
Through the park and out the opposite cul de sac, kids were on roller blades, despite the icy patches of snow here and there, with a hockey net at the end of one of the drive ways. I see these kids often, squeaking gout every bi tof light and good for them, the street light shines right over where the net is placed. Outside of the loop of houses, I had to be back on the main road for a bit, but not long as I entered the park through another path. Last week, unusual so I shouldn't get used to it, the city had come through with the small plow or mowers with plows, and cleared the walking/bike paths. IT has been so nice not having to walk on the street with pup for more than a few dozen yards at a time. With all the snow pushed to sides, the street is so narrow, plus I hat the dog walking and picking up even more salt and sand on his paws. I hope this is the plan this winter, though since it was weeks later, I think it was more an afterthought and not intentional. I have no pictures from this walk, just my words, but it was calm, and peaceful and I needed it.
I did feel slightly better as the day went on-the antihistamine did help, so I think something spiked my allergies. As I said, I took a relaxing shower, turned the heat down, and snuggled into bed early, reading a bit before My older daughter checked on me and the youngest texted, then called for a couple email addresses for my mom friends. She was in a happy mood and that made me feel better about being back at school with her life and friends. I went to bed then, sleeping almost straight through to 5:00! I got through my Monday, but today I'll be swamped, as I am most Tuesday's. Tonight, my daughter is joining me for homemade soup and maybe we'll make something sweet and healthy together. Best wishes for your Tuesday. I hope you enjoy some calm.
I'm glad you're feeling better today. Sometimes all you need is sleep/rest isn't it. And thanks for recommending that blogger. I'll check her out (but I see she's doing the "Walk 1,000 Miles" challenge too. Did you sign up?
ReplyDeleteI did not sign up for the 1,000 mile challenge officially as seeing how poorly I do would not be good for my motivation! I do plan to walk more and if we keep this decent weather, I might do quite well.
DeleteI'm glad you felt better as the day went on and glad you were able to get a good night's sleep too. Have a great evening with your daughter tonight. I'll go check out the new blog you found - oh and it's not cyber stalking, that's the way it's always worked :)
ReplyDeleteI might go back on hectic days and read her walk posts-the essence of calm. Thanks for reassuring me I a doing the comment viewing as intended.
DeleteI have found lots of blogs I enjoy by clicking on them through other blogs comments :)
ReplyDeleteI would guess that is how we found each others blogs at one point.
DeleteGlad you had an enjoyable walk. Maybe they are clearing the path since more people may be walking due to working from home or being in lockdown? I have found lots of blogs by reading comments on others blogs or by finding them on others sidebars. I hope your Tuesday goes well!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think there is a master plan to clear the paths, but I feel like it might be a one off-something to keep workers busy since we haven't had many snow falls yet. Tuesday was a bear, but I got through it.
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling rested and better.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about your walk, with hot dogs cooking, hockey games and snow ploughs it sounded like an American TV series, things not common here in the UK! xxx
It's a pretty typical fall weekend, but not so much in January and on a Monday which was the nice twist.
DeleteA calm moment is just what we all need right now!
ReplyDeleteyesterday I went for a longer walk-while still light thanks to a meeting ending 20 minutes early, I just stayed logged in a bit longer once back, before my daughter came over. I truly need the walk in the sunlight most of the time, but Monday was nice to get the peacefulness of the neighborhood.
DeleteHappy to know daughter is settled and glad to be back. I need to read more blogs, I will use you idea!
