Here's what it looked like after the concert. Snow started sometime during the concert and went all night. There was nothing on the ground yet when we took our seats.
We took our daughter for a meal at a hip cafe, the same one recommended by her friends back in October. She and I had hippy bowls, layered rice and root vegetables. Mine was a more Asian flavored inspired with the addition of kimchee, cabbage, and sweet chili sauce. Here's was Mexican inspired with black beans, corn, and peppers. She got sweet potato fries and zesty avacodo ranch. DH had a fantastic burger and fries, with as our receipt called it, boring ranch. We then got trapped behind a parade route trying to get our daughter back for her call time. We weaved our way around and found a back route. Life in Minnesota in December. It's an adventure.
You can't see the blowing yet. View from our hotel window. |
It is so pretty! I know, having to drive on it, is a different story though. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteWe had less than great conditions first hour, but drivable. Then it was fine. My daughter's got a winter wonderland though at school.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the concert and time with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you are snowed in though, and I hope there is a break in the weather so you can get home. Safe travels.
We took advantage of the lull and got home safely. All's good.
DeleteHere's hoping you get back safely, even if it means another day. Fingers crossed for an easy drive!
ReplyDeleteWe were watching weather so took advantage of plowed roads and lull in snow fall.
DeleteWhen you live in a snowy area you have to learn to work with it, don't you (and truth be told it can be lovely), but by golly it's hard work too. I hope you got home safe!
ReplyDeletePreparedness makes a difference. We watched for stop in snow and plowed route and we're fine.
DeleteIt’s pretty but I hate it. We had just a few snow showers so far this year, and a little is forecasted for Wednesday. Safe travels! I know my husband would be on the road this morning even if conditions weren’t great. I wouldn’t be opposed to staying another day and making it a mini vacation lol. I like boring ranch! JoAnn
ReplyDeleteWe were on the road by 10:15. It took longer but we didn't have too much issue.
DeleteI'm glad you had a lovely time. Safe travels home! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you. All went well.
DeleteI love a bit of snow that goes away before 24 hours is up. Otherwise, I hate snow. Keep posting snow pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'll have a few, but not much back home. It all stayed north.
Deleteyes Sorry about that snow. It came through here in Canada on Thursday and always heads down your way after that.
ReplyDeleteIt stayed north of our metro so after first 50 miles, roads were pretty good.
DeleteHope you made it home fine, my daughter went back to the cities at about 1pm and found the interstate pretty good. It is now terrible outside with a second round of snow and blowing. I’m so glad my RN daughter who’s working 12 hour nights had found a cheap efficiency apartment so I don’t have to worry about her working and driving in bad weather and so tired as it’s about a hour from our town.
ReplyDeletePretty mild South of St Cloud. It was nice to have ok roads.
DeleteIt's easy for me to say but I think the snow looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteOnce we got farther south, the roads were fine and the dusting of snow on the farm fields was pretty.
