Doc Martin Morning

I woke up crabby, a bit under the weather with a stomach complaint, and with a headache from drinking a few beers last night and not enough water. I left work yesterday with an awkward conversation with a coworker in which we clearly saw a situation, and the policies that led to the situation, very differently.  I'd like to crawl back under the covers and have a do over for the week. Oh, and we're getting our taxes done today, and I am expecting to learn we owe no less than $6,000. I feel like craggy Doc Martin, smug and condescending to those around him, yet a bit sad and underwhelmed by his life. Blues today, but it will be better tomorrow, right?  This little clip says it all for me today.

  1. $6K? Dang! That's high. Are either of you self employed or have income your company doesn't tax like bonuses, etc.? Though I can't feel your pain I feel for you. 8-(

    1. Bonus or spif as his company calls it, and untaxed. We always put it aside ubtil aftet tac season then the balance moves to our "real" money but dang is right. It would be great to keep more if it.

    1. Only myself to blame. I wasn't completely well yesterday but still went out with the girls after volleyball. I can't blame them as bad influences. Fresh day on Friday.

  3. The week is almost over thankfully. I managed a small refund this year - for that I am extremely thankful.

    1. Breaking even would be the goal. Hard to think of DH's bonus ad such when so much is paid to taxes but thats just what it is.
