We got snow on Saturday, enough to have to shovel and enough to give the sledding hills fresh life. We won't be relocating anytime soon to a place with nice January weather so it's better to try and embrace the good about winter in Minnesota. I took my time with the dog on Sunday and he had a ball playing in the snow as well. I capped my play with a steaming cup of Trader Joe's Chai Tea Latte. It's now really cold with temps in the single digits and wind chills below zero but the weekend was good. Tuesday is a good day to report on a lovely Sunday.

Isn't the snow pretty - but shovelling it is less fun don't you think! And I'm always intrigued by animal prints in the snow. They seem to stop and start at odd locations as if the "beast" could fly!
ReplyDeleteWe saw Robbie leaving our yard so knew it was him and not bunnies or squirrels. He is a sneeky guy and likely goes back and forth and figures out ways to be undetected.
DeleteThe snow is definitely pretty when it’s not on the roads! We’ve just had nuisance weather, randomly waking up to a few inches of snow that none of the news channels mentioned, freezing fog advisories, wintry mixes. This morning it rained so hard it was like a thunderstorm. If I could move to a place with no weather, I would! Just a moderate temp, some sun, some clouds, as neutral as you can get. Does a place like that exist? Gah, never mind, don’t tell me if it does. I’m probably better off not knowing! I hope you have a lovely Tuesday! JoAnn
ReplyDeleteThe nuisance snow is hard to navigate-it just bogs down the roads so much. Not that I would know about this right now. I have to think the middle states are more balanced. I think France and Italy seem like they are balanced as well.
DeleteI don't envy you the winters, that's for sure, but they certainly are beautiful, and, if you are content, can be very cozy and reassuring. You know, decades ago, when I first relocated from New England to the southwest with my husband, another transplant said something very wise. They were words to the effect of, "Well, you can't expect this region to give you what New England did, but you might start to appreciate it for what it can offer."

DeleteI'm with you Martha! I'm next door to you in Alabama. I can barely handle the winters down here when it goes down into the 30s. I don't miss the snow at all, but it is pretty to look at in photos.

DeleteWhy do your pictures now show? I did click on the tiny picture so I could see it. It went from 70F to 71F just after midnight last night, so no snow here, just a tornado. The snow is pretty. I like the animal tracks and remember not to eat that snow in snow ice cream.

ReplyDeleteSunday was pretty warm-high twenties, but it has been a good 15 degrees colder the last few days. The right coat and life still goes on. The pup needs his walk.
DeleteWe actually got snow last night also. But not enough to shovel and most was gone by noon.
ReplyDeleteMAybe Idaho might be a good place to retire to. I can handle a bit of winter-it's the constant battle of iciness and so many snow falls I get sick of by the end of February.
