A New Day

My "To Do" list is growing each day. I'm starting to break down by month (and later will add week) all that needs to get done by June around here. I need to order senior pictures and start organizing poster boards. I need to finish the book club book before Thursday morning. Dinner is frozen tots and chicken patties. I made  a stop yesterday to pull together simple meals for the week, inexpensively, but quick. Hopefully I'll get my act together tonight and put a lasagna together for supper tomorrow night.

DD2 is doing two different duets for the variety show auditions. I pulled in the drive way as her sort of boy friend, more great friends than really a couple, was leaving and shortly after one of her guy pal's came to rehearse with her. So lovely; they're doing In the Shallow from A Star is Born. I wish I would have heard her and  duet partner one, because I think it will be really cool, singing a Civil Wars song, but darn if I can remember it. This is a big leap for DD2. She loves to sing and academically has done the solo ensemble an auditioned before directors. This will be her first time doing something just for pure fun and I am happy she is stretching herself with her friends.

Work is going to be wonky for a while. I have a new bosses boss, and bosses boss- boss, though have not yet seen her in the office. I imagine there will be some sort of welcome with all of us and she will join our staff meeting at some point. I really like my new bosses boss-was her old boss a few before-when I started there. She's the kind of woman, and so is my boss, that  treats everyone with respect and you feel like she is always in your corner. There will be more musical offices over the next few months I'm sure. It is a new day at work, and no one has quite woke up yet.

  1. All of our girls sing and my twin was an opera singer for the first half of her career. I love to hear our daughters sing, and I am sure you are so proud, I wish we could hear her.Our

    1. She said the one audition went well, with her BF, but the one with her pal was rough, a big case of the nerves by him. He is such a sweet kid and I am so proud he gave it a try. She won't know for a few days if either "act" got into the show, but as you said, they were all doing what they love.

    1. I hadn't remembered at all, and totally forgot my daughter had auditioned for the variety show with two different friends.
