- We took full advantage of the plentiful breakfast in both hotels, not needing anything more than a snack to tied us over. We splurged on BBQ and a few drinks each night, but managed to stay under what I estimated we would spend.
- Before leaving, I made sure to inventory what we already had in the house for items that I seem to always buy again before leaving town like deodorant, razors. etc. We had a store run, but didn't buy duplicates and used up some items from home.
- We bought no souvenirs in Nashville except a t-shirt for DD2 from the Grand Ole Opry. I'll borrow a few pictures from my friend for memories and we have a few selfies and snapshot of us together in a few places. I do not need anymore stuff.
- DD1 and I joined another mother-daughter and a couple friends for trivia at the brewery. They don't serve food other than pretzels, so it was a pretty inexpensive night since I grabbed a bite from our measly pantry at home. They allow you to order food from any of the restaurants down town, but also allow you to bring in your own snacks, which we will do next time. We even managed third place out of probably at least 10 teams.
- Cleaning out suit cases, pockets, and bags, I found several dollars worth of change. I continue to feed my biscuit canister, the one I started for the Baguette and croissant fund.
Other than shopping for household and groceries that are needed, and will count towards April, I don't plan to spend money this weekend. I'm really hoping the weather is nice and in between cleaning, I can take a couple decent walks. Entertainment will be movies on Netflix or a good book. That's me being thrifty.
Travel is rarely without more costs than we plan, even without any mementos. I am glad you had a great trip and most of all had fun. I think Nashville is a fun city.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to estimate what prices are. They charge a premium for a beer, but music is pkenriful. We made sure to bring tip hat/bucket for the musicians.
