Easter in the Time of Corona

Happy Easter 2020! This is what we woke up to, and the report is it will be all day and into tomorrow. Easter in the time of Corona-almost sounds like a movie title.

I started a brunch/Easter dinner, combining my families brunch traditions, and DH's family's dinner. I made a boneless pre-cut ham, asparagus, cheesy potatoes, and egg bake, and little crescent roll pastries. All was delicious and despite halving quantities, we still have a full meal of leftovers, plus I refroze 1/2 the ham. Doesn't it look delicious?

While brunch/dinner was cooking, we watched church. Here's a few of the images displayed during the music. Not the same, but it worked. Easter sure is different, but the intent is the same.

Later we are going to join extended family remotely.  We have a few jelly beans-Starburst, the kind I don't like so will leave them be. I do like Resses's eggs, so may have one later.  This will pass, and perhaps by Memorial Day, families will be joining each other in person. I hope however you spend the day, you and your family are safe and well.

  1. Starburst jelly beans are my favorite Easter candy,& I couldn't find any this year. ;-) Nick made homemade Reese's peanut butter cup... incredible!

We had mimosas & hid eggs for the kids, and now they are playing poker with their plastic egg money that was hidden. All is good here, and we will have hot cross buns for lunch. :-)

    1. I don't like Starburst candies either. I like the poker idea. I hope you enjoyed your day and buns.

    1. I wouldn't have even thought of asparagus but it was on my MIL's list earlier this week. It was very tasty.

  3. It is almost 4 pm and I am still working on dinner! It will be good, eventually. Yours looks delicious. Did you read "Love in the Time of Cholera"? I have it but never read it.

    1. Never read that book. My dinner was pretty easy and I cleaned up as I went.
