I do not know what set it off, but I woke up to bouts of sneezing fits this morning. Is there something germinating widespread right now that is a new to me allergy trigger? I get this allergy reaction in May as flowers bloom until things seems to settle, and then ragweed season in August will send me into repeated daily bouts. I don't recall a June allergent attacking my system before. I feel like I should wear a mask inside my own home today, but minimally, I'm wiping things down even more so. We need milk and deli meat but I won't dare venturing out even for a brief errand today. I don't want the looks a sneeezing fit might create, but importanly, I would hate to take my gerns out there even if wearing mask. We have had the central air on, but DH just recenlty changed and improved filters so I don't think that is the cause. Well, it's Monday and a new work week so I best carry on, sneezing or not, and have plenty of tissues on hand.
Father's Day was nice. I made the pie, which was not the best as it didnt set well, but it tasted OK. We had that later afternoon after we had a picnic at the river and wandered down town a bit. They still had a section closed of for the bars and resturants that had expanded for outdoor dining. DH and DD2 watched a movie together last night while I read in another room. We have a quiet week, though with my Thursday off, that will add something new. I'll likley pay for it on Friday with a stock pile of e-mails. I haven't even looked at the weather, but hope it's conduscive to being outdoors. I wouldn't mind getting back to the tennis courts and I know the girls want to paddle board after work. The college kid will likley have plans to meet with friends either here or out of town from college, but in the area.
Over the weekend I had major news we were semi planning for, but if not formally decided by June 30th a significant problem would happen to a sector of people receiving program services on July 1. We've been preparing for the policy change, and preparing for it not to go forward. Now with just eight business days, we finally can settle into the direction that will in fact be the new policy for the next four years. I will be swmaped this week, and this, plus a related change are two pronged. On one hand, there will be releif that a benefit for many will not change. On the other policy, while benenficial to a small group and has no impact on others, it is a complex forecasting process with our funding. The burden is purely administrative, which is good, but challenging. I am actually pleased with both and happy to at least have a decsion made. The limbo was stressing me out.
I'm off to fill my coffee cup and take a Claritan and cross fingers for relief. The work above isn't going to get done by itself. I hope you ha a good weeeknd and feel ready to tackle whatver you Monday brings.

We have allergies too! And I'd not want to be out, and have a sneezing or a coughing fit, either. I tell my husband, I'm *afraid of being come after, with pitchforks!* LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd no fun having to work, feeling bad. Good luck!!!
Fortunately, I don't feel poorly, and today so far thye have been better. I'll still take a Calritan though.
DeleteAllergies last month were rough on us too, so far we are weathering June pretty well. My daughter's are always worse in the fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for fall allergy sufferers as I love to be outside th emostin the fall. The Claritan helped a lot and I'll dose up today as well.
DeleteI sneeze after eating - we all do in my family and I think the record is 13 times! But it does seem strange to start sneezing in June when you've never done so before doesn't it. And good luck with your work programme. I sense you're going to be very busy again - poor you!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think causes the eatig sneezing? That is quite unique. Yes, no slowing down and very likely that wiht spending more during the helth crisis, we will continue the hiring freeze and most likley deep budget cuts. Better tonot hire than to a lay someone off though.
DeleteHusband and eldest daughter have terrible allergies.
ReplyDeleteMy younger one and son do as well. They both also get a cold about the same time frames I get them. My older daughter and husband seem to have colds in sync, but he always blames his col don me-not hte hundredsof people he see's at work.
DeleteI just saw on the news that grass pollen is high here in western WI. Possibly there as well? Celie
ReplyDeleteGrass pollen? I'll have to read on that and maybe it is a new allergent to me.
