Filler Picture-I'll avoid this summer! |
How is this positive? The changing weather, as long as the damage stays at bay, is what creates the growth in gardens and the variety of flavors that come out in fresh produce. It's the rainy day followed by boughts of heat and sun that make getting to the beach or jumping of a dock such a pleasure. June is one of my favorite months and has been since I was a child. Everything is at it's greenest and we have the promise of a whole summer ahead. As a child I looked forward to the days where we would be out from morning until past dark, and then expereincing that with my own kids on the days we were home. June is here, whether or not we're ready for summer.
June can be hellacious can't it. We've had scorching temperatures for so long and then now it's cold, wet and yucky. My son was born on 31 May 1992 and I remember my husband taking 3 weeks off to be with my older son. And it just peed down constantly. I didn't know who was going to murder who (whom?) I guess June is just unpredictable!
ReplyDeleteWe ended wiht a lot of rain-still into today, but no storms. I had no cryng dog and slet well!
DeleteJune here is generally just hot. It rains and cools things down when it is raining, it quits and then the suffocating humidity sets in. Yesterday it rained and when I came out of Mom's house it felt like I was in a steam bath. Yay, June. . . July. . . August. . . September. . . and most of October
ReplyDeleteI remember my June and July's in NOLA-could never apprecaite the city when so hot!
DeleteOh, Anne, call me crazy, but I love those steam bath days. I am missing Florida. Our June is typically mild, as is most of the year around here. Today, though, mid 50's, and windy. DH put his foot down and turned on the heat, which makes me crazy. In all seriousness, though, we very well could turn to a.c. later in the day!
ReplyDeleteThe steam bath days and masks are at odds with each other!
DeleteI don't like hte feeling of never cooling off and hate over air conditioned spaces. That's probalby why I couldnot do the south in summer. We det 10 days or so, and tha tis enough for me.
DeleteWow, 95 is really high for this time of year, especially as far up north as you all are. My daughter said it was hot here yesterday, but I didn't venture outside to see. LOL
ReplyDeleteFor June-quite warm, but never lasts long. We'll get some July and August strekas though for sure.
DeleteOh, I have to agree with Anne. We live in same place.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds stifling, but glad you are both maks wearers.
DeleteJune is here and such is the temperatures that go with it. Today it is supposed to be close to 92 but feel closer to 100. Tomorrow similar but with storms. I had the kids and my niece and nephew out at a local park this morning. At 10am it was already feeling close to 90 degrees although actual temp was only 79. It is what it is.
ReplyDeleteThat's when having even just a filled up splash pool is a nice treat! With no public pools, they are selling out.
DeleteIt is cold here today, I am so looking forward to the heat.
ReplyDeleteSince summer is so short, I don't complan often aobut heat-jsut try and remember Janaury!
DeleteIt's warm but lovely here (we rarely get much humidity). Today is 85 & blue skies. I also love June. The end of school, summer vacation, time with family. We usually take time off as well & spend time at our vacation house
ReplyDeleteMy son loves his CA climate. He was always a heat no humidity kind of guy. Did you ever get it figured out to work form there?
DeleteWe have actually had a fairly cool month so far, but there is more to come.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Today will be coolish-nohigher than 70, plus cloudy, so an ideal sitting outside day.
