It is a perfect night out, but I don't even feel like being outside-unusual for me. Maybe I'm getting what M has. Maybe I'm just cranky after a really rough work week. Even when you like your job there are days and weeks that kind of suck, and this is that one for me. I won't go into the story but my pet peeves in the work place are lack of accountability and excuse making, decision making void of using facts and experience, and political pandering. All three elements reared their way into the work place. I'm going to give myself a good schlump on the coach, get caught up with personal e-mail, Facebook, surf around YouTube and just let me day escape. Then, I'll do some cleaning up and laundry and put the house back to rights before bed. I'll need a good nights sleep. Tomorrow promises to be a real son of a ......
I'll share my latest view, and incredible cover of an old Simon and Garfunkel tune that was on the Conan Show earlier this spring. I grew up on Simon and Garfunkel and usually hate covers, but dang if this one is not perfection. And tonight, I will just relish the Sound of Silence while I can get it for a few minutes.
Hope the week gets better. At least you are over the hump! Nice cover! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy night got better- I took the time to relax "chilled" a bit, and went to bed early. Now I am up bright and early-my internal clock does not let me get much more than 6 hours of sleep at one time, so rather lie in bed, I got up, have another load of laundry in, and feel like I'm taking charge of my day. Isn't it a nice cover? I am going to dive into some other links and see and hear more.
DeleteI think I borrowed a Simon and Garfunkel CD from a friend when I was a teen. I have a vivid memory of listening to it with headphones on while I was walking around out back on our property. My teen years were really rough and I spent A LOT of time just taking in nature by myself on our five acres. There was one song, I do not remember which, where someone yells. The yell is back in the distance and set up to come out of one speaker. Every single time I listened to that song out back I would freeze dead in my tracks and look into the woods. For a second every single time I'd think someone was yelling from in the woods. It was the craziest thing.
ReplyDeleteI know, super random :)
They are the complete package for teenager angst. I can imagine listening to them in the woods. The Boxer is one of my favorites, and I am a Rock.
