A Day Just Like Neil Gorsuch Had

No, I'm not interviewing for a seat on the Supreme Court, and I didn't have 10+ hours of drilling yesterday, but I have an inkling of what Neil Gorsuch might be experiencing. I spent an hour across from two new men from the recruiting firm yesterday over the noon hour, basically asking similar question as I went through a week ago on the phone, and giving a few more nuances to my experience and credentials. Now I'm in another waiting game. The recruiters meet with the client on Monday to go through their first cut of candidates for  client interview one. I'll find out by Wednesday, either way. If I continue, interview one will be the first week of April. If I make that cut, a second interview will be two weeks later.

They certainly are doing due diligence for their client, which is what they were hired. Overall, they have been very respectful and flexible about scheduling interviews, so I appreciate that. Since I hadn't initiated this job search, I feel I have less emotional ownership into the final outcome. Still, as I learn more, it really would be a fantastic opportunity, so I am doing all I need to, to have a chance. You know I'll keep you posted, but nothing more on the subject until next week. How is your week going?

    1. I was amazingly calm. Having a good job, if not an ideal job, helps I guess.

  2. It is nice to have an interview if you are not the one initiated the job search. I have an experience recently. since the line of work is different than you, it is actually a job offer for a permanent part-time. Feels good

    1. Good luck with that. If this is meat to be, it will be, but I will keep working hard where I am at, trying to put a little more passion into the work.

  3. A 10 hour grilling - can you imagine? I'd be a limp mess after something like that!

    1. I'm not a fan, but even I could feel for the guy when the same questions were asked over and over. I know they were trying to find chips in the tea cup so to speak, but I too would be pretty done at the end.
