Oh, coffee. It is going down a treat this morning. I can honestly say, if we are going to be stuck with another snow storm, having an ample supply of warm beverages makes it much more tolerable. DH bought some new clothes a couple weeks back and earned Kohl's cash, plus he has a $5 anniversary reward. Before the snow comes, we're doing a Kohl's run so DD2 can get a new pair of jeans and see what they have for winter coat clearance. We'll pop into the Goodwill up the hill from the department store as well, and maybe get some coffee at the Starbucks in the same neighborhood. We're having a "night out but in" because of the weather. Since I'll be in the neighboring town with a HyVee, I'm getting Chinese food to reheat later and check out a movie or two from Red Box.
I let the laundry pile up, both to be washed, as well as mounds clean, but need to be folded. We've been doing the "pull it out of the dryer" too much lately! General cleaning, some meal prep for tomorrow and into next week, and some photo organizing is also on my list. DD2 has a scholarship application to complete, plus working ahead n some homework even though she I son spring break. She'll miss three days of school the following week for the Nashville trip One of her friends is on the Ireland trip, so missed two days last week, plus the three show choir, and there is a band competition over two school days. He'll miss 7 of the 16 scheduled days this month. He's been posting screen shots of Irish television via Snap Chat for his friends at home.
It warmed up above freezing yesterday so it is mushy out. I guess we will have rain first, then snow, so who knows how roads will be by the time this last snow dump is over. I heard a rumor it will be in the high 30's and possibly hit 40 by the end of the week. That might be a bit too fast for flood risk. Our town is on the list of the flood watch as we sit on the Mississippi. We have another river in town, plus loads of ponds and a couple small lakes. I'm sure our park will completely flood, but hopefully keep out of the houses that surround it, including ours. Time will tell, but winter has not let hold of it's grip quite yet.
Whatever is on your list to do today, I hope you accomplish what you want and feel refreshed for the week to come.

We thought the morning soccer game would get rained out today, but it's looking like that's still on. So, soccer this morning, & maybe a ski trip tomorrow. Depending on how everyone feels + the weather forecast
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good idea to plan an inside night. Fingers crossed you have no flooding
ReplyDeleteWe have a show for youngest's club this a.m., and I promised to bake some things to sell. The cookies are baked, but youngest is still asleep. We'll get there when we get there, I guess. Schools were delayed 2 hours yesterday due to snow. Eldest only has 1 class at the H.S. so he didn't bother going. DH gave the others a choice--they chose to stay home, saying the delay days were nothing but a carnival atmosphere. Yeah, winter doesn't want to release its grip this year. This is very unusual for the Puget Sound. I find myself reminding myself why we live here.
ReplyDeleteDD is going on an Eastern European trip with her history group. They leave the first week of July. Unless the state waives the 8 snow days, they will be in school right up to the day before they leave!
On my list is catching up on blogs like yours :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening out, in!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting storms but ours are in liquid form with thunder and lightning. I am tired of the rain, but it beats a drought I suppose.
