As DD2 ended up with friends much later than I had thought, we didn't get to the lake until 11:00. DD1 was already fast asleep-I knew she would be as she wanted to get up early and head into town where there is a water fall, plus get sunrise footage. Both of us hungry, DD2 and I had a little snack while watching decades old game shows on one of the channels that the lake can get clearly. I was up early on Saturday, waking as I always do, but went back to bed after seeing DD1 before she left, and slept until almost 8:00-unheard of for me. Without capturing minute by minute of our day, suffice it to say, it was perfect. We swam, lounged on the lillypad, ate moderately healthy, read, and relaxed.
DH came up with pup after work and we all had dinner together, made an attempt at a fire but the wood was pretty damp so between the feeble fire and the mosquito's we retreated inside. We played the girls version of Apples to Apples, the funny kinds where you try for extreme answers.. Sunday was cloudy and then stormy, so we decided to all leave after lunch. I felt a little cheated out of a day with no one else at the cabin, but once home, I was able to get us unpacked, and we all took naps, which was just as wonderful, I actually feel rested from the weekend.
I had meant to take my camera, but forgot it. I left the computer at home too. I managed an entire book-total mind candy, Jane Green. I did snap this picture from my phone, though, one of 20 for my July goal. DD1 is in the kayak in yellow and way in the distance, DD2 is by the pontoon. At least you can see how perfect the weather was. I'm off to work. I answered a few e-mails that came in late Friday, and solved a mystery on a data question, so Monday is off to an OK start. I hope you enjoy these last few days of July.
Sounds like a perfect weekend! We ended up with 10 teenagers at our house for a pool party, which was actually a lot of fun. Everyone got along well, & the boys had a great time. They only have a few weeks left before school starts again, so it was a nice (almost) close to summer.
ReplyDeleteSchools don't start until after labor day around her, but even that is only five weeks now!
DeleteGlad you finally got some relaxation in - it was about time wasn't it!
ReplyDeleteIt was about time. this coming weekend will be about getting stuff done though!
DeleteI am so glad you got a nap and feel rested. The lake looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt was the perfect temperature as well-cool, but then comfortable for swimming.
