Positively Tuesday-Starting to Feel Some Balance

The weekend felt less lonely than last weekend, even though last weekend we had a day a the cabin and I worked the crowded state fair. Less lonely even though DD1 was spending the weekend out of state with friends. Maybe it's because it seemed like DD2 was finding herself a bit more comfortable. Maybe because I had to rely on just myself and not overly depend on DD1 for company, I forced myself to be busy and embraced some of the calm. It was only a two day weekend and with the start of the Vikings season, big doings in the Sam household. No, it was just DH and I watching the game on a rainy off and on Sunday, followed by tennis in the back ground while we puttered, made a nice dinner, and relaxed in the evening.

We added tickets for the Saturday show at the college for family weekend. I wasn't sure what it was about and we had until Friday. DD2 thought it might be fun, so we bought the tickets. We plan to go to the football game as well-hoping it is good tailgating weather. Our friends, her best friends parents, who also have a student there were in the area for a wedding so she got to hang out with both girls. They crashed the wedding dance for a while on Saturday night-not quite, were verbally invited to join the dance. It was fun to see her in silly pictures.  Just two weeks and we'll see her, and then her term will be 1/4 done already. Amazing how quick time flies.

DD2's Tuesday plans are cancelled as her friend is out of town. She suggested a creative night. My camera is on a weird setting and I can't figure out how to change. I'm hoping she might help me. Then we might head to park reserve with the dog and maybe get some good pictures. She snapped this one of pup on the old railroad bridge-now a walking and bike path.

The rain pretty much was done by the time we took him for a walk but not many people were out and about. OK by me as he can be such a nosey one to walk. He was soaked from the grass and sprinkles though. DH and I had a late dinner when he got home. It's nice to get out with the dog-the evening goes very fast, though I'm not sure I like eating so late. That's about all I got on a Tuesday. Yeah, I was still lonely this weekend-just trying to think more positively about the new amounts of quiet I have.

  1. This will get better and better. Remember she will come home and every outlet will have a hair apparatus plugged into it, there will be bobbi pins every where and you will be happy when she goes back to college. Trust me it will happen.
