Too Much To Take in and Write About

Thanks to a couple nasty trollers, or even if not trolls, some not so nice people, I'm adding a short post. Yes, I write my blog from Minnesota and I live in the general geographic area of Minneapolis and St Paul. Yes, I am fully aware of the murder by police of a man earlier in the week. Yes, I am aware of the protests, and the riots that escalated out of the original peaceful protests. No, I am not ashamed of myself for writing  "stupid boring  blathering about my baby steps in public".

What has happened, and is happening, is in communities, neighborhoods of my family, friends, and colleagues. I am devastated. I am grieving. I am processing, I am forming my response mentally and physically. No, you don't get to tell me how to do that, and if you try to, I can ignore you. I didn't even let your mean comment post. The wounds are now, open, exposed. Take your key board attacks elsewhere-I'm not going to listen. I need my mental energy for more important things.

  1. Amen, Sam! I feel the same way. We need to keep living our lives and what you write about it what is going on in your life. If the troll/trolls don't like it they can choose not to read and if they are that worried about what you write about or not write about right now then obviously they don't really care that much about what is going on in the outside world. So sad that people can't keep their mouths shut.

  2. The troll expected you to devote your blog to the problems? Or, blamed you. Hearing about your life and opinions is why I come here.

  3. I wonder if these people have written about it themselves?
I know how much you care. xx

  4. Oh good grief! I can't for the life of me fathom reading a blog you dislike just to post mean comments. Those are the exact kinds of people that is wrong with this world, not you!!!!

  6. So you are supposed to talk about what happened, like there isn't a ton all over social media. Is it the heat, the virus, the lockdown, or are some people just morons and are unhappy and want the rest of us unhappy too.

  7. Remember that most of the trolls are actually bots, and not real people. They intentionally try to create divides between people. It's really awful, and the new world we live in. I see the same troll comment posted on many blogs. Targeting boomers & other things.

Try to shake it off, even though I know, personally, it's really disconcerting.

  12. I don't comment about 'the big stuff' either. Wittering about home and family are what keeps us sane. You do you. The world is still out there and you still care, but you dont have to write about it. Take care xx

  13. Trolls are everywhere these days. I guess I don't understand why people think it is ok to tell you what to write on your blog. Its your f**g blog - ignore the trolls (and don't allow comments by people without profiles). There are so many freaking weirdos out there these days (president included) you just have to try and ignore them and don't let them stop you from writing whatever the damn you want on your own blog. PLUS! Just because there are issues happening in your city doesn't mean you aren't dealing with them in your own way, crikey there are issues happening in EVERY city and EVERY country right now

  14. Are you and your family okay? Are you in a safe place? I live north of the cities by about 60 miles and I am terrified at what is going on in our great state. Horrified by the act of some of our police but not so stupid as to realize they are not all the same. I pray for the mayor of Minneapolis and I pray for our governor and I pray for all the people who have suffered as a result of the rioting and looting that has taken place. I fear for those who have made the metro area their home. I tried to contact you via email, but it didn't work for some reason, so thought I would write a comment that you can delete or not even publish. Ranee

    1. Rae=Sorry I hit publish too quick with your e-mail, so deleted it right away. We are all safe-though my daughters were on the bridge yesterday when the semi went through. They were frazzled, but OK. It took them an hour to get our of the city because of all the road closures and they eventually were let through so they could get a side road to St Paul, and then had to drive through city streets to finally get on a throughway.
