Seasonal allergies are kicking my butt. My eyes are watery, and my nose is full. I use Claritin for the most part, but yesterday to last night was so bad, Benadryl was in order before going to bed. This means today I will be in a hangover fog, and just tired, exhausted really. I am proud of myself that despite no meetings scheduled until 4:00, a gray and rainy day, I actually put on real clothes. It's been two weeks now since I decided to ditch my t-short and short for casual, but work appropriate wear. Did it make me less tired and give me pep? Well, no, but it's at least a step towards getting on with my day.
My spruce up might need to come from the inside. The coffee is brewing, and I am tempted to drink coffee all day, but will limit myself to my two cups. Water is what I need. I've already downed a large glass with my daily pill and vitamin regimen. I'm also, once I feel the caffeine has been adequately absorbed and getting to my brain, I plan to eat a decent breakfast with yogurt and fruit-lots of clementine slices, then more water. I wish I had some lemons, but i do have a cucumber so perhaps I'll get all fancy for myself and slice some in a large jar. Then later I can stick those slices on my eyes!
I haven't checked the weather to see if the rain is an all day event, but I'd be OK with it. Taking the pup for a walk later in the rain might be refreshing!. We had two perfect weather days on Saturday and Sunday, if not a bit cooler than I'd like for August, not quite hitting 80 either day. Pause: I had to hop aside and look up today's forecast. The rain is supposed to stop, but remain cloudy all day with a peak of just 71 this afternoon. Tomorrows temps remain about the same, but with some sun coming back. I guess summer is waning, but there is more. DH got the front and side lawn mowed when we got home form the lake, but the weeds are getting quite unsightly. The rain should make the weed easy to pull from the rocks, plus with the cooler temps, I won't be sticky. That will be an after work spruce up.

I get my allergy problems in October and most years need an antibiotic. Hopefully, that won't be the case this year. If I take a benadryl, I am shot for the next day. I hope you get better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo stuff ends up getting infected-that wold be rough.I'm eeling better as the Benydryl really helps, but Ieed 2/3rds of a day for the lethargy form taking it to wear off.
DeleteIt is still a little sticky here (OK a lot sticky) but it will cool at some time. We usually have a cooling spell in early September but it is just Mother Nature toying with us and then the temps escalate again.
ReplyDeleteI need to follow your lead and put on real clothes but I go no where and see no one other than TheHub and my sister and they both know the real me, so its shorts and tanks for me!
Real clothes-meaning they are actually either hung of folded on my shelf, and not just for the laundry basket. It's not a high standard.
DeleteIt has been cooling down over here. Today was a warm day but now, by dinner time, there is a nice cool breeze. I take allergy pills year round but still I do get them even lightly.
ReplyDeleteIt's only certain plant that set me off, so usually just a couple bouts a year. We have had a lovely breeze all day.
DeleteOh I feel for you. Allergies are such a pain. I never had any allergies until I hit about 40 and then got hammered in the spring. After that it started to abate a little but I know if I took Benadryl it would be kaput for the day. But well done on getting dressed for work. When I'm at home I'm a real slob so I applaud you!
ReplyDeleteI have to take overnight and I still feel the effect of a Benadryl the ext day. I'll see what tomorrows temps will be-mig teven put shoes on!
